Maruti Ritz is the latest car being released in 2009. Here is a quick sneak peek review on what you can expect from this car. More details to follow after the test drive for which I have already registered 🙂
Engine options:
- All new K12M Petrol engine that is made completely of aluminum. Because of this, it is light in weight when compared with other engines and expected to yield a good mileage. This engine is a 1.2L, 1197cc engine and is capable of putting out 85 PS of power at 6000rpm, with a torque of 113NM at 4500 rpm.
- If you are skeptical about the performance and reliability of the new petrol engine, you have an option to choose a diesel engine. 1.3L, multijet Diesel engine that is currently powering the Fiat Linea is the other option. This common-rail diesel is 1248cc engine which develops maximum power of 75 bhp.
Interiors:
Looking at the images suggest extensive use of plastic parts just like A-Star and with its stylish new interiors the Ritz also offers a center console designed to give a strong presence and easy access. It also has a host of other features like a large independent speedometer, colored fascia, dashboard display, comfortable seat fabric as well as door trim which further contribute to the fresh appeal. Another noteworthy feature here is the gear shift lever is ergonomically shaped and is positioned relatively high in the centre console (see the picture above) to minimize its distance from the steering wheel and permit extra storage space.
Mileage and Price:
The company claims that its latest K12M engine offers a mileage of 17.8 kmpl in city roads and 21.8 kmpl on highway. If this is practial, then Ritz can be recognized as the most fuel efficient car in its segment and Maruti is expecting very good market response to Maruti Ritz because of its mileage. Also, it will be first car in Indian market which will be equipped with BS-IV compliant K12M engine. Ritz will be available in 7 variants with two engine options as mentioned above in a price range between 3.9 to 5.2 lakhs along with a choice of ten colors to choose from, eight of which to have a metallic finish.
Variant Non Metallic (in Rs.) Metallic (in Rs.) Hi Guys,
Just got Ritz VDI after 3rd free service from RNS Bangalore. Can’t complain about service its great. But two issues
1. Guys scratched my right mirror don’t know if they use sandpaper to clean it?
2. Have horrible smell (mild rotten egg) in the seat. This is issue with Maruti.
Good stuff…. had Engine Oil & Oil Filter changed. Chose Synthetic engine has become so smooth after that. Waiting for the delivery of Nulon PTFE (Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene) next week and am going to add that into the engine oil. I am pretty sure the diesel will purr after that. I was told that can’t get K&N air filter. They improve the performance and you never have to change them just clean them for life.
Raghu says
@ Harsh. I own a VXI, so cant really comment on VDI. But here is the deal about rotten egg smell in petrol versions. There is an air circulation button beside the AC button. The delivery guy casually asked me to keep it “on” “forever”. He warned me that rats might burrow in. God knows what made him say that, but I have shared this earlier and folks dont complain of rotten egg smell after that. Cheers.

Hello Folks, Was away for some time from the site. I earlier hummed about the low mileage of of Ritz vxi. I have been a steadfast city-user of the car clocking 2050 KM over last six months and have my car under servicing while posting this. The service guy asks me to clock atelast 3500 KM before we can all venture out on carrying a mileage “test”. Given that iam “used” to my car right now (kinda of grown liking it), I have two questions – what kind of seat covers go with ritzy (brick-red)? Specifcally, is it advsable to go for “lustre” artificial look-alike leather or for fabric covering? I sweat. Meaning if I were to sit on a vinyl type covering, in the past, I have sweated. I’m given to beleive that this vinyl type material is being proferred as art leather. Well do give inputs on whats best for ritz. (One side note – In Bangalore, the test drives are on Zxi’s. In hyd, they are on Lxi’s. I thought, seat height-adjustment is enabled in vxi, whereas it was not. Now I also realize the great test drive experience that I got in Zxi was basically because the seat height was adjusted updwards. My query is would stuffing additional foam in the seat cover in the driver seat help? Is it a good pactice? Any other alternatives etc)
Second is Teflon coating – does it help? Whats this whole funda about car paint being secured with Teflon coat? What are the two truths (and lies) about it and how does it apply to dark colored cars, brick red for instance.
Harsh V Joshi says
Hi Raghu,
About the mileage well if you are stuck in B’lore traffic then low mileage is inevitable. As far as seat covers go you are right art leather is synthetic which means you will sweat. If you want good leather you will have to pay for it. Go for Stanley they have a show room on Indiranagar 100ft road next to Barbeque Nation.
I am not sure on if Teflon coating on outside work as in B’lore traffic it is bound to get scratched, but I swear by this Teflon coating inside the engine. I did it regularly in my 1984 M800 and finally sold that to a driving school after 20 years. The Teflon coating inside the engine. I have a Diesel VDi ABS and with AC on most of the time I get 15KMPL just got the car back from RNS after 3rd service. Changed the engine oil got synthetic oil filled the result is amazing the diesel has become real smooth.
Expecting the delivery of Nulon PTFE (Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene) next week and am going to add that into the engine oil. I am pretty sure the diesel will purr after that. Yes you can also change your air filter to K&N that peps up the performance too.
Ram Lakhan says
Please help in making decision, WagonR LXi cost me on road around 4.98 in Noida and Ritz LXi costs around 4.42 …. Which one i should go for.
Ram Lakhan
somesh says
hey Ram Lakhan, i would vote for ritz for you. you will not repent this decision. space inside wagonR is very less compared to ritz. i will illustrate it to you.
the normal seating without moving the seat backwards is equal to the full backward seating in ritz(after moving the seat totally back). even then, there is a possibility for a man of height 5’10” to sit in the back seat.
Harsh V Joshi says
Hey RL go for Ritz and if you are dooing more than 30KM per day go for Diesel.
Ramesh says
Ritz is a perfect family hatch suiting both city and highways. The 1.3 L diesel engine is very much refined and gives good pickup and power delivery is also lot quicker for a diesel car. Maruti has been wise in giving this car cheaper than other cars at the same time not compromising in any of the features like ABS and EBD. Also, Maruti’s after sales service is excellent. If you are looking for a 5 lakh car with great features, good interiors and years of trouble free motoring I strongly recommend Ritz 🙂
Khan says
I have bought maruti ritz diesel model VDI in sept 2009 its is only car which is gives u a playboy looks and extra ordinary performance in pickup as it takes u above the road as u r flying in car . its gives u a different power when u r driving the alone or with ur family .

Hello all,
Can somebody tell me how best to make use of the tachometer. What is optimum engine speed. Thanx in advance. .. raghu
Arindam says
Hi Raghu,
For getting optimum milage please maintain the engine rpm between 1500 to 2000 i.e tachometer reading in between 1.5 to 2.0. You would be required to maintain this reading with proper gear shifting. If you can continously maintain a speed limit of 70-80 kmph in a highway, your tachometer reading would never cross 2.0 (in 5th gear ).
In city limits as we are required to drive constantly in 2nd and 3rd gear the tachometer reading would hardly cross 1.5 unless you race the engine too high in lower gears. Please try to shift to the adequate gear corresponding to the adequate speed limit as soon as you can and the tachometer is the component which would enable you to do so.
One word of caution, if you are using the high octane fuel ( if you are driving a petrol version) you are required to race the engine a littlte more so that the hydrocarbon is efficiently burnt and you get more power.
Hope you achieve good milage by using the tachometer properly.
Regards;
Arin
raghu says
Hi Arin,
Thanks for the highly useful piece of information. I will make it a ppoint henceforth to kepp an eye on the tachometer also.
I drive within the city only averaging nearly 60 KM per day. As the pick-up of RITZ is very good I touch speeds of 90 to 100 whenever the space permits. Perhaps such speeds my not be optimal. I am getting a mlileage of 14 -15 with sparing use of AC. I don’t know wheter this is good or whether I can expect more (the claim by the company is 17 plus.
You may comment on the above.
Thanks agai .. raghu
Arindam says
Hi Raghu,
sorry for replying late. The milage you are getting is absolutely fine. I guess you have completed atleast 2 servicings done. I am getting a milage which is about the same as yours.I only had one servicing done, and the next is due in the month of September. In between I have completed about 2,800 KMs.
I guess the milage rating given by maruti has been calculated based on standard conditions which would be very difficult to achieve in your day to day driving experience.
But this is also to share with you that in highways I was able to achieve even 19+ with full usage of AC, and that figure , in my opinion is quite incredible.
Just wait till the third servicing after which your car engine is going to smoothen up a bit further and you can make it sing to your tune. Three simple mantras:
1. Follow the tachometer rule;
2. Drive in proper speed & gear;
3. Always Fill tank full from the same standerdized gas station.
happy driving.
regards,
Arin

Ritz performances seem impressive but I’m a little off with the look… will they come up with different design soon? Any suggestion?

Ajay,
The looks of RITZ is getting accepted more and more. In fact it has started looking attractive. I feel that the look is futuristic. Don’t hesitate. If you are liking the car otherwise (indeed it is a very good car – I am driving ZXI since January) – go ahead – You are unlikely to regret. Good luck. .. raghu

I have brought an Ritz Ldi 3 months back and enjoying the driving on it. Within 100 days i have covered 3750 Km. I have clocked 135 KM during my trip to Coimbatore.
It was so stable at that speed, My kid sleeps in the back seat during our trips and she is tells me that she is very comfortable … I have not done much calculations on the milage but i am pretty sure that it is giving a very good milage.
My experience is that unless you drive the vechile for long drive , it is hard to get reasonable milage. So guys , go for loooooong drives and enjoy the driving with Ritz…!!!
Lokesh Panday says
I bough Maruti Ritz and it is a very good car. I got the Diesel VDI. I had been driving Swift and Ritz, but I feel Ritz is a better car as it has great pickup and consistent mileage of 19 kmpl. There is no problem with getting in and out of car. The seats are plushy and provide good thigh support too. The steering and dashboard has durable plastic made buttons. No engine noise can be heard inside the cabin, even at higher speeds! Overall, Ritz is the best car of the hatchbacks in India!!
srikanth says
Hi Mohan,
I am new buyer of car, I had test drive of both Petro and Diesel ver of RITZ. Even Diesel is soo smooth and less noice. I travel daily 38 to 40km. which one you suject.
Bageerath says
Hi,
Though I have not bought Ritz (will get in a week) yet, I found very good features of this car compared to i10 and 120,
1. Maruti brand name reliable and cost efficient.
2. Mileage of Ritz petrol is very good compared to i10, i20 or any other compititors of this price range and with such engine capacity 1.2 L. Even with its own cousin Swft Petrol. (this is my friends experience who owes a Ritz LXi).
3. There will not be any difference between Lxi or vxi in performance. the difference would be only with interiors and exteriors.
4. It is true that we can speed up the Ritz to 130 kms aswell without shake.
5. Its quite obvious that mileage will go down if we speed up cars more then 90 kms/hour, this applies to any car.
6. Ritz has a unique style which most of the people might or might not like but i love the style.
7. I shall update you more with my experience with Ritz Lxi which i am getting it home in one week.
See you guys…..
Thanks

What is your buy ? Does it really look that odd from back ? Both are beautiful machines. What I can suggest you to test drive both and then come to a conclusive decision. As a matter of fact it is the non conventional look of rittz which attracted me towards it and I can assure you you will not repent your decision if you decide to go with it. It is one of the best package you are having at a fairly affordable price.

arindam says
To be doubly assured; I performed a simple test yesterday of filling up the fuel tank to the full, drove around 45 Kms and once again refilled to full tank capacity. I drove with the AC on and in moderately congested city roads. The results were as follows:
1st filling : 18.45 lit
1st Km reading: 956.8 Km
2nd filling :2.9 lit
2nd Km Reading:1001 Km
Hence the average milage is = 44.2 / 2.9 = 15.23 Km/lit
Please note that I have driven having the AC on throughout my travel.
So I don’t think my earlier claim of getting 16 to 16.5 Km/lit with intermittent use of AC in moderate city traffic is wrong. Dil maange more after the 1st servicing which is due on 24th of this month.
I stand by my Blue Blaze Ritzy.

I have bought the Ritz VXI on 15th Feb., 2010 and I am very satisfied with its performance. Give 16 km per ltr with A/C on Highways. The only problem is that when I overtake some vehicle with A/C on in 4th or 5th gear its engine lost it accleration and it is hard to overtake other vehicle. Please suggest if there is any mistake in my driving. please suggest.
Regard,
Ravinder
Arindam says
Dear Ravinder,
Could not understand if you meant that your car lost acceleration during overtaking only, absolutely no problems in overtaking a vehicle in higer gears if you can maintain a steady speed ( More than 45 KMPL in 5th gear as suggested by MUL) , but , if you are in the habit of pumping the brake pedal once or twice while overtaking then there may be loss of acceleration and introduction of little bit of knocking; provided that you are driving in the limiting speed range.
I do understand we have to do this somethimes in a congested traffic when suddenly a vehicle appears from the reverse end.
In such cases you may slow down a bit by applying brakes and shift to downgear for letting the vehicle at your left side pass and make gap for your vehicle so that you overtake the same at next possible place.
This way you wont feel like loosing steam suddenly.
Happy driving.

Sourav says
I fully agree with Mr.Arindam regarding his experience on Ritz’s mileage figures.I also own a Ritz Vxi since Nov’09 and the car has been consistently returning a mileage figure of 16-17 kmpl ( mostly driven within city limits with intermittent usage of AC ). I had even got a figure of 20 kmpl when driven once in one of my highway trips. I agree that this figure may come down a little bit when driven in congested city areas, but that doesn’t mean that on an overall basis,it should return a figure of 10-11 kmpl. Actually,as rightly said in an earlier post, mileage depends on many factors like the driving style, road condition, traffic and quality of oil filled time to time.
The tachometer acts as a good source of reference for determining the proper usage of gears at different speeds, which in turn helps out a lot ,in enhancing the mileage figures. I have found that keeping the RPM figure around 1500,we can expect for a good mileage.
Alongwith the above, the overall experience of owning a Ritz has been very satisfactory for me and my family members. In my opinion,Ritz is one of the best offerings in the market today in its segment. It has the best petrol engine in the market at present ,combined with excellent space-management,drivability and overall satisfaction of ownership.

Sourav

We are also planning to buy Maruti Ritz VXI. When researching on the web there seems to be two prominent issues with this car.
1) First one is the vibration and rattling noise when the car speeds above 70Kmph
2) Abnoxious odor from inside the car.
Apart from this forum there are other people who have complained about this issue. Is there anybody else who are facing the same problem?
Mat says
I am facing the issue number (2). i think if you fill the bharath stage 4 petrol, it will be fine. but unfortunately it is not available in all cities.
Raghu says
No the problem of obnoxious odor has, iam assuming, a different origin. I have a Ritz Vxi, and can help you with this (I think). When you take the car for delivery, pay super-careful attention to the off-hand remarks which the delivery guy makes. They carry huge importance. I was told rather casually by the delivery guy to always keep the button besides the AC button swtiched on. God knows what this does, but I guess it has to do with circulation. He said pests could come in, in this case rats. I was surprised how come a modern car like Ritz, ever leave this kind of gap open. But I had already “bought” the car by then.
In Maruti’s case, I realized, after buying car, the company is borrowing its own designs from abroad and manufacturing tin-dabba’s on the same design . I mean look at the quality of Ritz’s manufacture and you would know, how cheap its been made. I also read a post form somebody called Somesh claiming he is getting 14 with AC on in city. And the content of the post says he does not know much about cars and is infact naive (for instance Maruti claims 18km in standard conditions and how can we increase milage; its ridiculous attempt to let readers gulp that the car gives 14;) Looks like we have some paid Maruti associates posting hyped up messages. Beware, i got suckered and car gives me 10km/lit in bangalore with AC on. Dont forget that.
somesh says
hi raghu
i was quite surprised by your comment on my verse.
what you said was –
“(for instance Maruti claims 18km in standard conditions and how can we increase mileage; its ridiculous attempt to let readers gulp that the car gives 14;)”
that was quite wrong for your kind information. I am not getting 14, i am getting close to 15 on an average, i insisted on saying that it was an average. One more thing i need to correct is the sentence “i am getting 15kmpl on average with full a/c ON”. the actual thing is A/C was ON all the time but not the highest point 4. we use 2 to 3 points A/c always and often we used 4 points with fan. “a small reply for your comment – i did not receive any money to give hype to maruti”. i just had a look at the reading of my first service delivered car, it is 1390, and i had refilled petrol worth of 5000 till now. so, here goes the calculation after and before the hike of petrol prices. ((3000/51.3) + (2000/53.4)) = 95.8 litres. so what would the mileage be? – = 1390/95.8 = 14.5 kmpl. i believe i am not fooling people. i get nothing by fooling people of same feathers.
And to say honestly, i know nothing about cars, its condition or anything else except that i can tell whether it is in just ‘good’ or ‘bad’ condition, from the truth that i am 26 and i have been driving four wheelers to six wheelers (tractors) since 11 years.
Thats all from my end raghu, and forgot to say, i use my car in hyderabad and one to nagarjuna sagar and another to kurnool were my long trips.
Thanks
Somesh.
Raghu says
My apologies Somesh. Its just the frustration with my Ritz Vxi that made me loose cool. I unconditionally take back my comments about your lack of knowledge of cars and paid hype. Those were strictly uncalled for. I think you are plain lucky in terms of your car giving that kind of mileage. And I cant help but envy you given that I have exactly the same car. Given my personal research/discussion into Ritz’s (lxi, vxi, zxi) )mileage with many owners in Bangalore, there is a huge variation in mileage. It would have been great for Maruti to let their customers trust their engineering/manufacturing skills rather than personal luck. Happy driving.
raghu says
Raghu (Bengaluru),
If you are getting only 10 KMPL, I feel that you should make a strong case to Maruti people. In my opinion there should not be a very wide variation. My ZXI is giving around 13 KMPL, in city with AC. I am not happy with that performance. At the time of second servicing (so far done 3500 KM) hope to get improvement.
.. raghu (Hyd.)
arindam says
Dear Raghu,
I own a ritz Vxi and completed about 1000 Kms in first 15 days. I strongly support Somesh as I am also getting milage to the tune of 16 to 16.5 Kms. I have mostly driven in the city limits using the AC intermittently. I am sorry to say if you are getting milage in the range of 10KMPL then there is something amiss either with the car or with the petrol bunk. I understand you are an experience driver, but still I want to share with you some good practices followed by me :
1. I Stop my car engine at the signals where I need to stop for more than 90 seconds;
2. I Don’t race my car much in lower gears and try to shift to 4th or 5th by the time I reach 50-60 Kmph;
3. I try to use the brake paddle as little as I can and instead control the car by shifting to down gears;
4. I avoid placing my foot to the clutch paddle while driving;
5. While approaching flyovers or steep gradiants i do switch off the AC switch;
6. I do switch off the AC wswitch while starting from zero velocity;
7. I do try to maintain a standard tyre pressure (33Psi) all the times and I am very particular about it;
8. last but not the least I try not to drive my car at a speed of more than 70-80 KMPH even if the roads are empty.
Please find out a standard petrol bunk for filling up your vehicle , I try to maintain fuel level at least half tank all the time.
Hope this good practices can be able to help you and other readers of this forum.
Regards,
Arindam
Raghu says
Thanks Arindam, for the suggestions. I have consciously tried to keep my foot off the clutch paddle and its now become a habit. I went to a Shell petrol station this time, as the navratna fuel stations in Bangalore have a dubious reputation – and I was sticking to a HP since purchase. Unfortunately, still I’m getting 10.5 km/lit with intermittent use of AC. To be truthful the route I take to go to office in Bangalore is congested. If folks from Bangalore relate – i travel from BTM II Phase through Marutinagar to the St Johns circle to Koramangala 6th block. On the rarest of the day, can I travel for 2 km straight without having to change gears. My meat with Maruti is, why did they claim that the car gives 14 km per liter in “CITY” conditions? Because what I go through everyday are classic city conditions. And on top of that a comparative i10 by my colleague who traverses a more tedious route gives 14 hands down with AC on. You can imagine the mirchi i feel. But again, i intend to take my car out for a at least a 150 KM highway ride and then report back the results. Hopefully I should get a more reasonable mileage. My family, however, likes the car, which I think is the most important factor for any car purchaser.
raghu says
raghu,
Perhaps you are not alone. I just met a RITZ VXI owner who is having the car for about two months. As I also own RITZ (ZXI), I casually inquired about the mileage. It appears he is getting less than 9 KMPL. He was told by customer support that after the car does about 5000 km he can expect improvement.
You can do one thing. Run about 2-3 hundred KM without AC. I am trying the same thing. I am seeing the difference.
Good luck .. raghu (Hyderabad)

i am plannin to buy ritz vxi! i just wanted to know whether i can go for different stylings such as spoiler, alloy wheels, roof rails. how much wil it cost me??
Mohan says
Vijay, I doubt if the dealer with whom you book the car would be able to do it before delivering. Check with them.. price depends on the brands you choose 🙂
Vijay says
k den i wil go for any car decor store!! can u tel me d price range of d modifications i mentioned above?
Mohan says
Sorry, I have no information about the price. Suggest you check at a decor store itself… Again, get the quotes from atleast a couple of them to see the price differences 🙂
arindam says
I just have purchased a Ritz – Vxi , blue blaze colour. What I suggest you is it’s better to avoid the accessories from the dealership as for all items they charge 20-30% extra. Better to go for a standard car decor at your vicinity and fit your accessories.
Mohan says
Hi Arindam, thanks for sharing your experience. I am sure, this will help a lot of people!

Vasanth, Your numbers are not very impressive, particularly 13KMPL long distance mileage. Maruti claims 17 plus. One would expect nothing less than 15 KMPL.
ALSO; There were a few posts concerning bad smell in RITZ. I am driving RITZ petrol for the last two months and I haven’t experienced any bad smell.
Mat says
When you do more acceleration you can feel the rotten egg smell from the back side of the car. I inquired to showroom guys and they said that it is because of the petrol is having more quantity of sulfide. I tried different brand’s petrols. it’s still coming out some times.
Thanks
Mat
Mohan says
That is weird. I think you should complain about it to Maruti engineering dept directly.
vasanth says
ritz give Very good mileage(almost 13.5kmpl in heavy city traffic without AC, in highway with ac about 13kmpl). Raw power. It seems 120kmph is nothing for this best. Great looks. this is the most stylish looking car made in India .
Front seating is very comfortable & spacious. Getting into & out of the vehicle is very easy as it is taller than all the other sedans(for elder people also).

I own a Maruti Ritz VxI. Posted on Mileage earlier too. One of the deciding factors which swayed me select ritz was the new K series Engine and the associated mileage. I know I have had it. The car gives me 10 KM/Liter with Bangalore City. The showroom during the sales pitch (Mandovi) claimed 14 KM/Liter within City AC-on. Understandably I checked with others in my locality plus by networking. I reached out to 5 other owners of Ritz Vxi/Lxi/Zxi. The story is same. Mileage is highly erratic. One of the owners mentioned that on the highway, Bangalore-Chennai- he got 14 KM/liter. Within city he gets 12 KM/ Liter AC-on. Others reported within city between 9.5 KM/liter t0 11 KM/Liter within City/AC on. Quality is a huge variant with this car. I curse my luck as there is no such variation reported with i10.

Hari,
Mohan is right – you get a feel for both and decide.
Having said that I add that SWIFT ZXI is costlier than RITZ ZXI by about 40000. In addition there are offers on RITZ and there is no offer on SWIFT models. That means you will be paying about 50 to 60 thousand more for SWIFT. You should weigh the cost effectiveness. Also there is waiting time on SWIFT.
By the way I am driving RITZ ZXI for over three weeks now. So far no regrets. I am getting a mileage of 15 plus within city (Hyderabad) and I run on AC most of the time (I’ve driven nearly 900 KM). That’s not a bad bargain. The main reason for my deciding on RITZ is the new K-series engine. It appears to be a very good engine though I have a feeling that SWIFT engine’s pick-up is superior.
Perhaps SWIFT is the most popular car as of now. Ritz is slowly picking up.
Good luck.

Hello,
I am planning to buy maruthi car.. as like every one i also have the confusion amongst the car to choose.
can some one suggest the best between the two cars
a…..Maruthi SWIFT ZXI
b……maruthi RITZ ZXI
Mohan says
Hi Hari, since you have to make up your mind between Swift ZXI and Ritz, I suggest you test drive both, feel the comfort levels and discuss with your family. That will help you to decide on one of the two. Both are proven cars in the market!

Go for Ritz, without a second thought! I am owning it for the last 2 month back, and believe me its gem of a car and one of the best offerings from Maruti Suzuki! Superb engine refinement, with excellent drivability both in city traffic and on highway, its an experience to drive this car.Interior quality and space is also quite good.compared with fabia&i20,ritz is too good

ritz is a very cool car..i just bought VDi model.its pick up and power combo is awsome.it has got ample space for a small family.running cost of diesel is also very low.my advice to all you planning to buy this car is that buy diesel version.compared with i20 ,ritz is too good in its features.

After a lot of decisions and indecision I finally bought a Maruti RITZ ZXI (fortunately just in time to beat the price hike and increased VAT). While mileage remains suspence the car is a beauty in all respects – this is my first impression. The best impression is bout the power that I feel. The K series engine appears to be really good – equallysmooth in all gears from second to fifth. It was not so in my earlier Wagon R.
My advice to those who are contemplating RITZ Petrol is to go for the high end model. The features are all worth the extra money you pay. The music system (NIPON) is excellent. .. raghu
Mohan says
Hi Raghu, thanks for sharing your experience with Ritz. So mileage still remains a mystery for many here!

Yes i am also facing the same issue, a bad smell from the back side of the vehicle especially when i drive above 70km/h speed. it’s a kind of suffocating some times as it is coming to inside of the car. is there any way to get rid of this? Also the engine sound is bit louder compare with other new cars(i10, santro etc..) a kind of Wroom sound.. i like silent cars more.. 🙁

I tried that too, but if you are driving above 70-89 km/h , it is still coming out.. is somebody using BS3/BS4 petrol facing this smell issue? what is the permanent solution?
