View from a flight over Greenland

This one is first of a series of photos from my recent visit to United States of America!  I was on a business trip to US in the month of december 2011 and there are a good number of photos worth sharing. I will squeeze in a bit of story related to each of the photo too. The photo you see here was clicked from British Airways Boeing 747 flight when it was flying over Greenland. It was the sunset time and the moon was visible too. This was clicked using my good old point and shoot ‘Canon PowerShot SD630‘

Boeing 747 is a 4 engines powered flight, used by British Airways for long distance routes. I had the pleasure of flying all 4 flights involving this metal bird for to and fro with change over at Heathrow airport, London. The snow clad mountains in the background with one of the flight wing and moon visible in the sky was indeed a great view and couldn’t resist from clicking!

  1. This leaves one asking for more. Nice shot! The one thing about pics taken during flights is the inevitable spoiler from the window pane. I remember one particularly good shot taken on my flight from Goa to Mumbai, rendered useless by smudges on the window. 🙁

    • Thanks Vetrimagal! Yes, as one of the quote says… “Beauty is in the journey not the destination.” But in my case it was both 🙂

  13. Looking forward to more pictures… My son had used up so much of place on my camera and phone by clicking pictures from plane when we travelled by flight for the first time
