Having been to most of the shopping places in Bangalore for groceries or otherwise, I decided to give Total (formerly known as Jumbo Saver) shopping mall on mysore road a shot last sunday. The groceries were well packed. Like any other shopping mall, this too had a wide variety of items ranging from home needs, toiletries, clothe, vegetables, meat etc., This shop also gave me the experience of buying in a small shop – for example buying non packed groceries rice, pulses, et al. The choice was good – same goods priced at both ends (high and low). Only thing I couldn’t get in this store was the gasket for our 7 month old Prestige cooker!
Some of the products were priced lower than most of the big stores who keep advertising of lower prices. (Immediate previous shops I visited were Reliance Fresh, Big Bazaar, Fabmall, Food world). Most of the times some of the basic groceries aren’t available at the 3 shops mentioned above. We would end up buying at another place. Vegetables were very fresh including the cabbage and price was economical compared to other stores.
For once I got all the items in the list in one place. Ample parking place. I didn’t get to explore about clothes, shoes etc., This shopping trip was mainly aimed at our monthly groceries. They have many cash counters which helped our cause of a quick visit. Also, the cashier/billers were very courteous while welcoming me to the billing counter by doing an indian style of ‘Namaskara’. Will definitely visit this place again!
