The week that was…

I haven’t got enough time to blog for almost a week now. Blame it on my laziness or on the hectic work, quoting reasons is easier than having done! Keeping it all aside, let me write on what happened over past one week. First thing that comes on top of the list is my Birthday! yeah.. I might have turned a year older but the positive side is I grew up more mature! I have learnt a lot many new things. As usual, got up early in the morning and went for a jog. Then had oil bath, took parents blessings and been to a temple. Mom had prepared the sweets.. with that my b’day celebrations got over.

This year I had less of mid-night noise on my mobile with b’day wishes from friends. Looks like they have started to realize that I am a married man now! However the wishes started pouring in as the day progressed and I had to excuse myself from meetings at work to attend to those calls. A surprise b’day wish came from Venkat Panchpakesan – head of Audience group at yahoo now and a former yahoo india CEO, who was in Bangalore on an official visit. In contrary to the past 2 years where in I had received a flower boquet from my employer, this year my b’day gift was a photo clock that displays digital time, calendar and temparature which also serves as a photo frame! There were 2 cakes bought by friends today at work since the team size is considerably HUGE. They smeared the cake all over my face and there was some serious face decoration competition going among the folks and I was the instrument for their experimentation. I am glad that they are all sticking to my advise of no “Birthday Bumps” within the team members… proud of you guys and thanks for sparing me from those brutal kicks 😛

Apart from that last weekend, my nephews were at my place and they were crazy about kites. I recalled all my childhood learnings on making and flying a kite. It was fun playing with them. Though I struggled a bit make it fly in the very first attempt. I had to readjust the way I had tied the thread to make it fly. Being kiddish at times makes life memorable 🙂
