I am resuming to write movie reviews again. Over the past week, I have seen three movies – Raaz(the mystery continues…), Luck by chance and Slumdog Millionaire. Here is my quick thought on each movie.
Raaz – The mystery continues:
The original Raaz was an awesome movie with all the required elements of a typical bollywood cinema including suspense, thriller, horror, music, romance etc., However, this sequel of Raaz has lost its glitter. IΒ fail to understand this movie, which claimed to be one of the thriller horror genres. Certainly there are very few scenes with the ghost but not picturised up to the expectations. Kangna has put up a good effort to justify her character. Emraan Hashmi looked funny in the first half of the movie for sure! Music is the only face saving factor for this movie, a couple of songs are very melodious – again a typical Mahesh Bhatt symbol. My over all rating is below average and better to skip π
Luck By Chance:
This has a realistic script and a typical thought provoking movie. I personally feel the screenplay could have been better and the story was slogged way too much. Farhan Akthar has managed to get the entire stardom to appear in his movie. Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadiya still have their good old charm with their acting. This movie might not please all those movie freaks who don’t bother to seek meaning of life in reality. Movie story is a typical case of luck, has good punch lines, less words, more of body language and intelligent humor. This movie certainly doesn’t fulfill the expectations of audience when compared to ‘Rock On’. I would rate it an average movie.
Slumdog Millionaire:
The most talked movie since past month or so. Nice story and a good direction. Though the actors are all new faces except Anil Kapoor, the unit has put together very nice movie. Even though the screen play is a little too co-incidental for each of the question, very well captured and keeps the audience attention till the end. AR Rehman has done a great job when it comes to the music scoring. The more you listen, that much more you start liking! My rating for this movie – ‘a must watch’. I could only wish this movie bags as many Oscar awards as possible.
