Today is the polling day for Karnataka state Assembly elections. India is the largest democratic country in the world. It is important for every citizen to participate in the process of electing their representative. Though India is one of the most corrupted countries in the world, we need to play an important role in changing that view. That change should start from each of us. Think and choose the person who has a big picture of your constituency. All our family members have casted our votes :).. how about you? 🙂
If you don’t like any of the candidates who are contesting, there is always an option called 49-O. Recording one’s vote under Section 49-O is a choice that a voter can exercise to prevent electoral fraud, and misuse of his vote.
One thing I really admire about the Indian voting system is about the 100% implementation of Electronic voting machine (EVM). This is a great step towards avoiding paper usage and there by being environment friendly! More over, these machines make the counting process an easy task as well as these machines can be re-used for future elections after wiping out the data from current elections! It may be noted that India is one of the first countries that went on for 100% elections with EVMs.
