This morning I had to purchase vegetables and fruits, soon after drawing some money from an ATM I found this Foodworld store near BSK 3rd stage. It was around 8:20AM and saw the board that indicated that the shop opens @ 8:30AM. Since it was only about another 10 minutes I stood there itself to purchase what I needed.
They were punctual enough to open the shop on time. However, when I got in, I had a pathetic view of rotten vegitables and fruits which are being mixed with the new stock and kept open for customers to pick. It was stinking so bad, I couldn’t even stand there for a while. On the other side of the store, I found nothing but Banana’s in good condition and picked up a couple of 1 Litre slice fruit juice bottles.
When I arrived at the billing counter, I was given one more shock! Banana rack had indicated that the price was Rs 29.5 per kilo while the billing counter charged me at Rs 32 per kilo. When I asked about this, one said YOU ARE TOO EARLY TO SHOP! another supervisor said what you saw on rack was yesterdays price.. but todays price is Rs 32… I had no clue on what was happening.
Same happened with Slice 1 ltr bottles as well. On the rack they had mentioned buy 2 for Rs 80. But billing counter charged Rs 90 which is as per MRP.. when I asked again, they billed me as per the offer. My suggestion to Bangaloreans is that don’t ever visit FOODWORLD supermarket stores in the early mornings. If you visit the stores in any other time, be cautious enough to make sure that you are billed as per the offer and not otherwise.

It’s been a bad practice to update the commodities prices after the shops are open. I think, they should first update the prices before opening the shops so that the customers will not have to go through such experiences. Such incidents are common not only in Foodworld but also in other shops as well. In my opinion, they should honour the price displayed on the item.
