Have you ever thought about turning off smileys on your wordpress blog? If so, this post is for you. It is good to have smileys on blogs.. I too like them but certain wordpress themes doesn’t gel good with smileys. Hence it is good to disable them. To make these smiley characters not to get replaced by images, it is very simple. Here is what you have to do.
Log on to your WordPress admin panel and click on “Settings” then “Writing”. In the “Formatting” section, just uncheck the box that says “Convert emoticons like :-) and :-P to graphics on display”. Once this is unchecked, save the changes. After that you won’t see any more annoying smiley faces.

I found the settings option but after clicking on it i didn’t notice the suboptionsmenu poping up because it was way down on the page.. i call this poor design but thanks to your “tutorial” i found it! 🙂
It’s a shame you should have to use a tutorial for these simple things..
