I think apple is using its brand name to sell the ipad. Its like, if they were to market garbage, and call it igarbage, millions would purchase it, for its by Apple. (kinda like the thing the banks did in the US!)
Anyhoo, Yahoo seems to have a advantage if it is indeed the first to move towards making apps for the ipad :)..
Mohan says
Well, the fun actually starts after initial shipment. Not every app is free! most of the apps do come with a small price between $1-$5 and people don’t really mind paying and adding new apps on apple gadgets. Now that small amount becomes really big when you talk about the number of devices in millions! After all… that is how Apple runs π

But with being a distinctly uncomfortable shape to lug around like a phone and not having Flash and I read about many other distinctly uncomfortable drawbacks, there was someone who wrote for NYT or Post am not sure that its the Faddy Americans who will jump on to anything with the Apple logo on, that has made sure that Ipad does not go into history as a product even Apple’s smart marketing couldn’t sell..You see any merit in that??
Mohan says
Hahaha… well said, the brand name makes even a not so great product sold like hot cakes! Personally, I too fall into the category of those ‘Apple fans’ π
hitesh says
this is real good… i always liked Apple’s product.. and especially how fascinating the UI’s are… so user friendly… i ‘m a big fan of Ipod’s… and iPad just extends that fascination

I read somewhere that the battery backup of iPad is Amazing, Even after using heavily the battery lost up to 10 hours. “6 million iPad units” in first year is a big number But Iam sure Apple can do that
Mohan says
True.. that is one of the hot thing people consider before buying such gadgets!
Nishita says

Apple does it again. I thought the initial buzz(reviews I read soon after its launch) was that iPad was a tad disappointing..but your post is optimistic!
Mohan says
To quote the numbers Apple sold 1 million iPads on the very first day of launch!!! that says it all… and even the first impression from actual users seem to be pretty encouraging too!
Swaram says
There ws more hungama abt the name rather than the actual product itself .. may be that made it seem so π
Mohan says
Talk about the marketing strategy Swaram… it is a way to hype the product launch π
Swaram says
