Anil Kumble, the most successful bowler of Indian cricket has announced his retirement from International cricket today. With 619 test wickets from 132 test matches is nothing less than extra-ordinary endurance. That includes a perfect 10 wickets haul in an innings agaist Pakistan can never be forgotten. Anil is also the 3rd highest wickets taker in international cricket after Muralidharan and Shane Warne. His retirement marks the end of an 18 year old story which troubled batsmen all over the world with his bowling variations including leg spin, googly, flippers and leg breakers. A medium pacer turned spinner is known for his modest and dignified behaviour on and off the field, which is not so common in present cricket.
Dear Anil – your achievements will be remembered forever, thanks for all your contributions to Indian cricket. We all miss you on field for sure. All the best for the rest of your life.
