I am sure most of you would have read about Adobe Photoshop Creative Studio 5 (CS5) release very recently. This new version of photoshop has some great features that every amateur photographer would love to explore! Basically it allows you to alter or create reality in photographs as easily as selecting an area and running the feature called ‘Content Aware Fill’. Gone will be the days when photojournalists are caught with embarrassing patterns created by improperly using the stamp tool. There are drawbacks too with advancements in photo editing technology. Now the media folks would be more than happy to use this tool to lift some of the photos on blogs and then modify it as per their needs. Not just that, the creative photographers work becomes just too common around!
The demonstration is so amazing that many commenters are saying it’s fake on the CS5 article, going as far as to say it looks… “photoshopped”? Don’t believe, take a look at this video.
By the way, this software costs just $1299 if you are buying it afresh while the upgrade is available for $499. Game for it? If I could get my hands dirty with this software, probably all the photos on this blog would be much more pleasing!!

CS5 is truly an amazing software loaded with some interesting features. But don’t you think its a bit overpriced? Or is it worth?
Mohan says
Well, it depends on your applicability. If you are a professional photographer, I am sure, it is worth other wise it is not 🙂

Krishna says
@Prateek and Mohan … that’s a technique called “Inpainting” and it is an old trick which has only now come into the s/w realm due to advances in programming which makes it fast enough. Here is some more info on that :-

And its true 😀 … lol I have spent weeks writing code for this in C and trust me I wouldn’t spend so much time if it weren’t for real 😉
Mohan says
Thanks for the into Krishna! good to know that you were a part of that team. Awesome work I must say 🙂 Welcome to my blog.
