Camel ride in Bangalore

Its a hot summer outside. Bangaloreans are afraid to go out in the day time though it rained in past couple of evenings. Temperature is certainly ever raising year after year. Blame it on global warming, pollution, green house effect or whatever you feel like, but that is the reality. Before I go on to write another article on ecological imbalance, let me get back to the topic title.

Camels are pretty common on Bangalore roads nowadays, not as a mode of transport 🙂 However they are on roads to serve a different purpose altogether… to entertain kids this summer by means of a fun ride on camel. My nephews recognize the arrival of a camel in the vicinity just by hearing the sound of bells tied to camel’s legs. Both Harsha and Puneeth waited for the camel to come and pick them up. They had no fear what so ever to get on top of the camel, instead they were smiling all the way and filled with joy through out the ride! They went on a reasonably long ride at the cost of Rs 20 per head. This is something not so common when I was a kid. I really don’t know if the camel owner had license to take kids for rides. The camel looked healthy and my nephews were courteous enough to feed the camel with a bunch of bananas after the ride. They had fun for sure and I captured this moment in the camera so that they can cherish their childhood days when they grow up.
