Yahoo! HackLite at GIDS Bangalore

April 16, 2009 in bangalore, tech, web, yahoo | 8 Comments

Yahoo! will be conducting an online hack event called “HackLite” at ‘The Great Indian Developer Summit‘ (GIDS) 2009  from April 22-25 at IISc, Bangalore. With HackLite, the hacking concept is the same as Yahoo!s Open Hack Days – that is, building great applications and widgets using Yahoo! Open APIs. But unlike Open Hack Days (where all the hacking happens during the event), HackLite allows developers to do all the heavy lifting behind the scenes, and demonstrate their hacks at the event. So, if you have written a superb piece of code and haven’t yet had the chance to show it off, this is your opportunity! If that entices you much, feel free to register for HackLite event by following this link.

Apart from hacking, technical talks on Yahoo’s Open Platforms will be conducted on all four days at the Yahoo! Developer Network lounge at GIDS, with a special focus on BOSS (Build Your Own Search Service) and Blueprint (Yahoo!’s mobile application development platform).  More infomation about HackLite can be found here. By the way, hack registration closes on 24th April ‘09.

I continue to be busy during this time with my mid term exams.. So don’t be surprised if you don’t find too frequent posts here.

Hacking is such a content, where a Good as well as Bad can be the output. It all depends on how the Hacker takes the term. Its unfortunate, the term HACK is always misunderstood as some negative aspect.

Hacking is always misunderstood, hacking actually means finding out the loopholes in the system and report it back so that loop holes can be corrected, and the people who don’t report it back to developing team and use it for malicious purpose are called as crackers and the term is called as cracking.

Well wish you a good luck for you exams.
