Have you ever thought searching on web is so simple? Then you must take this test called “World Search Championship“. By taking up this test, you not only get to learn which search engine is the best.. but also can win yourself great prizes as well. All you need to do is to answer a simple set of 10 questions in least possible time. If you know the answer, you may key in the answer directly. If you don’t know the answer, you can always search on net with the help of your most favorite search engine and provide the answer. I know you must be already thinking ‘Google’ does the trick for you in no time. My best wishes to you.. feel free to thank me if you win any prize.

By the way.. one request from me. After you are done with your best attempt, come back to my blog and share your experience about searching on net with all those web search engines. It would be great if you could search using Yahoo! Glue as well - this is embedded on that question page though. I will look forward to hear from you all about your thoughts on the new revolutionary search idea. Let me also hear about what you feel about google after that ;)

It gives me a great pleasure in announcing that I have been blogging for a little over 2 years and on this very special day, I started blogging on my own personal web ‘mohanbn.com‘. My very first post was published on Yahoo! 360 and you can view it here. From that starting point, I have been writing posts on various topics that I encounter in real life. Still I get a huge number of hits for my post on goldquest aka questnet. That review has received close to 300 comments. Though there was no specific topic that I concentrated on all these days, I plan to start a technical blog soon on this site. Topics I plan to cover in tech blog would include tips and tricks on Unix, Java and Software testing with respect to white box quality engineering.

This tech blog is set to co-exist with my random life experiments. I have certainly learnt a lot over these 2 years on blogging and to my knowledge I have improved a lot. If you have any suggestions, compliments or brickbats… I welcome all of them.

Yahoo! Pingbox

Yahoo! Pingbox

Yahoo! has launched Messenger 9.0 version with Pingbox. It is a brand-new feature in Yahoo Messenger that lets bloggers/web site admins to have a real time chat with visitors. It is a simple flash widget script you can embed on your blog, MySpace page, etc. Visitors to your site can use it to have an IM conversation with you directly, without the need for signing up or logging in.

Pingbox is very useful for site admins/bloggers, online sellers and social networking folks. Pingbox application connects your Yahoo Messenger application to interface with visitors and automatically shows up as a temporary contact on your buddy list for the duration of their stay on your site. This Pingbox lets visitors IM you anonymously (or they can identify themselves) without needing to download or even sign into Yahoo! Messenger. The good news is you’re anonymous too; visitors to your page never see your Yahoo! ID. Pingbox is great for giving your site/page/profile visitors a quick way to chat with you. Go ahead.. create your own custom Pingbox and add on your blog or profile!

Apart from Pingbox, Yahoo! messenger 9.0 has come up with a whole lot of new features like: New Skins, Return of the Original emoticons, Inline Video and picture viewer, Import contacts wizard, Yahoo! games are back (these were previously taken off) and many more!

I have already added the Y! Pingbox to my blog. Feel free to catch me directly from my blog whenever I am online.
