From the 6 races so far in the first half of the 2008 Formula 1 season, I have scored 207 points on Yahoo fantasy F1. This means, I am currently ranked 182 while the top scorer of the league has 240 points. Not a bad performance so far. This season has been pretty interesting with both the driver and constructor’s championship points are well poised to provide a much better fights for the top slots for the rest of the season. Ferrari has 69 points followed by McLaren and BMW Sauber having 53 and 52 points each.
Drivers championship title is even more interesting. Hamilton is leading the pack with 38 points while Raikkonen has 35, Massa has 34 and Kubica has 32. One sad news is that Super Aguri team pulled out of racing due to lack of funds. Force India’s Adrian Sutil was almost at the verge of scoring points in Monaco GP, but his dreams were shattered by Kimi Raikkonen. Lets wait and see how the season unfolds as there are more challenging circuits.
Last weekend belonged to Red Devils! yes.. May it be Formula 1 or English Premier league, teams associated with color RED emerged victorious. Ferrari won the highest points with both the drivers on podium at Turkish F1 Grand Prix, while Manchester United crowned with thier 17th league title.
Me being a fan of both the teams.. it was fun being glued to the television watching these sports. At the same time, On Yahoo! F1 fantasy league I am in top 200 ranks! True.. my team is currently performing well with 178 fantasy points and positioned at 196th place. This literally turns out to be in 99th percentile. If you are also in to Yahoo!’s fantasy F1, let me know.. we shall face off and lets compete each other!
Ah… that was a relief for the Ferrari team. Kimi Raikkonen gets the first blood for ferrari this season. It was an excellent driving by kimi and well supported by the rest of the team. This made it possible to keep the red devils flag to fly all over the Sepang ciruit today with the pride of playing Finnish anthem followed by Italian.
However, Massa failed to keep his concentration by spinning out of the track on 31st lap. He spilled an easy chance of making 1-2 for ferrari. Thanks to McLaren again for their penalty, repeating their history of bad behavior in the sporting spirit. But again, their recovery from lost positions on the starting grid is commendable. They do have a good car and mechanism to keep the leading position. Lets see how long they can hold on to that position. I strongly feel all the racing teams have a very good opportunity to fight and prove their existence unlike past few years where both Ferrari and McLaren dominated the whole season while other teams were competing for name sake.
Glad that FIA made good changes with respect to technical specs and modified the prevailing rules to bring up a good fight and there by a very challenging season. Now you all know what keeps me busy during weekends whenever there is Formula one GP is scheduled… I look forward for the upcoming Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand prix [April 6th '08] where Michael Schumacher still holds the record for the fastest lap.
