Great to see such action and reaction. We run a small NGO striving to address the same issue albiet from a differernt perspective.

The need to contribute on an individual level, as a common citizen, spurred us to develop an inexpensive “foot operated tap”. This can be retrofitted on any sink tap.

The amount of water, that would otherwise be wasted while one brushes or shaves or washes at the sink is reduced by almost 70%.

Every drop is precious. But do we care enough?

That is anyways being enforced by BBMP folks in Bangalore. Not just that, they recently passed a resolution which stated that Solar Water heating system is a must to get the electricity connection for a newly built house! I am so glad that the government agencies are thinking in the right direction and enforcing step by step at the same time.

Good Food for Thought
Rain water harvesting is another good solution. Every building should have a rain water harvesting mechanism.It should be made compulsory in all buildings.
