i learnt a few words of kannada. isn’t YES supposed to be ‘howdu’ and NO – ‘ illa’?

That is nice to know. Well, it depends on the context. You are right for YES. But ‘Illa’ means ‘it is not present’

for picking up kannada languate, you don’t need to watch movies alone.. I am sure, there are many kannada TV channels being aired there in UAE. Watch them and start learning
i knw,i watch dat too.but u knw muvies normlly use the slangs which common people talk wereas tv cahnnels try to be very formal in talks ,right
