BBC wears purple

September 21, 2008 in media, yahoo | 2 Comments

BBC portal gets a new make over. This time it is wearing purple as against previous red and black theme. Can this be attributed to Yahoo!’s new campaign called “Start Wearing Purple“?

I don’t know the answer… However the new make over looks really cool and appealing. With all the news panes that can be re-arranged and customized as the end user wishes. Good to see that the media companies are revisiting their strategy to use the technological advancements to provide an appealing enhanced customer experience. Even Yahoo! has started to test its front page make over, which is expected to come out soon with Y! Open Strategy.

One of my favorite quote by Benjamin Disraeli goes like this — “Change is inevitable. Change is constant.” So the one who is more willing to change takes the onus of becoming a champion! Way to go BBC.

Hi Rajesh,

BBC has a customizable option of selecting the skin colors. They have a set of 13 colors you can choose from. By default it will be set to ‘Rotate colors’ option which keeps moving between these colors every time you their page. You can set it to PURPLE as your default option :)
