Previous T20 Worldcup champion India has made an exit from super 8 stage of the tournament this time. Indian cricket fanatics have crossed the boundary line in expressing their views and opinions. There have been reports of Dhoni’s effigies being burnt to protest Indians exit in the home town of the team captain. May be, we might want to add to the traffic chaos and spoil the miserably bad roads a bit more by burning stuff on the public roads. Why not, everyone needs to a reason to express anguish. Should we really take it so serious? Come on give them a break!
It doesn’t stop there, now everyone takes a dig at the strategy adopted by the team. No surprises if a set of individual cricketers are targetted to play the blame game. Last time no one had expected this team to win, the expectations were very high this time even though Indians never looked so convincing throughout the tournament. Last time when the team arrived with the cup, a huge welcome parade was arranged on an open top bus to welcome the heros. God knows how it is going to be this year. Everyone wants to be a hero, but wouldn’t it be wrong to expect someone to become a hero when they really aren’t?
I have seen a couple of my friends openly saying on social network sites that they aren’t Indian cricket team supporters anymore! I fail to understand why fans can’t accept the reality. After all it is a game. Winning and losing is a part of the game. Take it easy folks.

yes.. totally agree.. Just blaming strategy/team composition is total BS.
Mohan, though you sound logical, I am not in favor of letting them go without some serious thought. They should feel responsible as they are representing the country. This is not a business, it is a matter of pride.
You are right Mohan, winning and lossing is a part of game, it should be taken with sportsman spirit. We won alot and we can loose one or two tournaments, which is absolutely fine.
I do agree with the views expressed in the blog. It is simply foolish on our part to expect that the Indian team should win each and every cricket tournament they play. It is a game and victory is determined by so many factors. Why can’t we Indians be rational and logical?
I don’t agree with it cricket has so much hype and buzz than the national game there are so many good players and tons of matches being played but still the cricket board fails to choose the right team composition…
and also i did not expect india will to be satisified with super 8 itself

Yup.. atleast for now people seem to have spared the team. Players are enjoying themselves in West Indies already

I do understand your thoughts. I would still consider t20 is more of a luck than skill. If the team fares badly in Test matches, then I do agree that the team is not good. Taking cues from t20 can never be an ideal way to judge the talent.
